After Care Program Grades Pre K to 8

After Care is a program designed to help families who need a safe and familiar place to send their children after school.  Whether you are a working family, busy with extra household chores or just need to run a few errands, After Care is there to help. No matter the reason that your child requires After Care, you can be assured that he or she is being cared for in a safe and nurturing atmosphere. All students are offered help with homework at After Care. During their stay there is ample time for them to socialize, play games, read and study. At After Care your child will be under the supervision of at least two or more qualified, dedicated staff and/or faculty members. After Care is a safe and reasonably priced alternative to hiring a babysitter with the added bonus of homework help. Children are asked to bring a healthy nut free snack and a small drink.


* Hot lunch is not served on half days. Please send children to school with nut free lunch on these days.

PreK After Care Information

The Aftercare program at the PreK will supply a safe and educational environment while also providing fun activities that your children will enjoy. During this time the children will engage in many enriching, fun, and educational activities. At After Care your child will be under the supervision of at least two or more qualified, dedicated staff and or faculty members.  During their stay in this program your child will be provided with ample time to socialize. There will also be lots of fun activities, arts and crafts, puzzles, games, story time, and dramatic play.  Children may also enjoy a healthy nut free snack.

 

After Care Hours, Fees, and Location for Grades K to 8 & Early Childhood


Days: Monday –Friday

Hours:  Grades K to 8 -  Dismissal to 6:00 p.m.   (in the main school building on Lindenwood Road)      

PreK -  Dismissal to 4:00 pm  (after 4:00 p.m. PreK students are brought to the  Lindenwood Road

school building for the remainder of their stay)

The program runs in 3 sessions and carries a fee of $12.00 per child per session.


K to 8 Pre K

Sessions are as follows: Sessions are as follows:

Session 1: Dismissal to 4:00 p.m. Session 1: Dismissal to 4:00 p.m.

Session 2: 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m .

Session 3: 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.         


We understand that at times parents may run late for school dismissal pickup. However, in order to ensure safety and supervision for our children, students who are not picked up by 2:45 will be placed in After Care and the regular session fee ($12) will be charged.

A deeply discounted fee of over 70% is available for families who intend on using this service on a regular basis. Fees for all programs will be billed through Smart Tuition.


Discounted fees for regular usage are as follows:

*One Time Registration Fee: $30.00 (cover a minimum amount of supplies, overhead, and extra staff)

4 to 5 days per week: $190.00 per month for 1 child plus $30 for each additional child.

2 to 3 days per week: $90.00 per month for 1 child plus $30 for each additional child.

These discounted fees offer flexibility in schedules. Parents can choose the days their children attend and the time they can be picked up between dismissal and 6:00 p.m.. These fees are NOT subject to change on half days. These fees are deeply discounted and will remain the same even if there are multiple days off in a month.

If you choose not to take advantage of one of the above discounted rates you will be billed at the $12 per session per child rate. With the per session rate of $12 a person, utilizing After Care on a half day would not incur charges above $36.00 from dismissal to 6:00 pm.

* The one time Registration fee applies to all students and will be billed through Smart Tuition


After Care for K to 8 begins on September 7th.

After Care for PreK students begins on September 11th.

After Care Location Grades K to 8

After Care is being held on the 1st floor of our school building. Pick up from the main school entrance at 151 Lindenwood Road.  All students must be signed out by an adult with a valid ID who is listed on the approved pick up list. (Pick up information is on registration form.)


After Care Location for PreK

Located in PreK of The Cardinal Cooke Center.  After 4:00 p.m.  PreK students are brought to the Lindenwood Road school building for the remainder of their stay.   All students must be signed out by an adult with a valid ID who is listed on the approved pick up list. (Pick up information is on the registration form.)


Registration for PreK through 8th Grade After Care:

Registration should be completed online through the link at the end of this notice.


New parents and those with questions may register in person at the following date and time:

Thursday, September 7, 2015 from dismissal to 1:00 p.m. in the school office or during any of the orientations. Information about a variety of other After School programs will also be provided for your consideration.

Sign up for aftercare will be available during PreK Orientation on September 5th.

Academic Enrichment Programs


Peer Tutoring in Math (TBD)

This program is designed to aid students in grades 1 to 4 who need help with concepts in Math.

Our St. Clare 7th and 8th Grade Math students will assist students in grades 1 to 4 who need special assistance in learning Math concepts. This program will be supervised by adult aids and a Math teacher will be on hand to assist in clarifying any issues.


Fees:

The cost of this class is $6.00 per child, per session.


This class’s availability will be dependent upon the number of students who register.

A minimum of 10 students present on a weekly basis is needed to maintain this program.

More information with specific dates will follow.

Dismissal for these programs will be at the entrance to school at 151 Lindenwood Road.

Programs in Art

Edible Art and Tasty Creations Grades K to 5

Imagine art you can eat. In these special classes students will make various items such as, chocolate treats, candy apples, cupcakes and a variety of interesting edible creations. Each of these exciting and fun filled classes will be facilitated by Ms. Erica Vitale. This class will be held in the Art room on Wednesdays from Dismissal to 4:00. Selected Wednesdays will be dedicated to a different to specific grade levels so be sure to look at the calendar to make sure you have the correct day.  A schedule will be sent home to all those who register.


Fees:

A one time materials fee of $30.00 for all supplies.

The cost of this class is $12.00 per child per session (You will be billed only on the days your child attends.)


This program will run on selected Wednesdays beginning in October.

One Wednesday will be dedicated to students in grades K and 1.

One Wednesday will be dedicated to students in grades 2 through 4.

Rain/Snow dates may be added to make up for any classes missed during the year.

Drama Grades 5 to 8The Play’s the Thing

                  

Back again is this amazingly fun program that captures the creativity of every student involved. If you have a flair for the dramatic and enjoy singing and dancing then this is the activity for you! Weekly sessions culminate in a wonderful performance that can be attended by family and friends.

In this program students continue to deepen their knowledge of theater terminology and techniques. We will specifically focus on the skills needed to produce a successful musical including stage presence, diction, singing and dancing. Students will also learn vocal and acting warm ups. The program will conclude with a stage production.

Sessions will take place on Tuesday from Dismissal to 4:00 pm in the school auditorium.  Beginning in March the session time may be extended until 4:30 - 5:00 p.m.  Mrs. Hoff will advise students as to when the extended sessions will begin.  The week before the show, students will rehearse every day after school.

Beginning Date: Tuesday, September 26th

End Date and Performance Date:

  • Friday, May 4th at 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm

  • Saturday, May 5th at 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm


The cost of this program is as follows:

$12 for each session

$25 materials fee

$12 show t-shirt

*We will accept around 25 members into the program. Attendance is extremely important. Please be sure that you can attend all sessions before you sign up. Repeated absence could result in a reduction of lines or scenes that you are a part of. In this production we work as a team and we need every member to attend each rehearsal to ensure a successful show!

Drama Grades 3 & 4 – “All the World’s A Stage” and now you get to perform on it!

                                              

If you have a flair for the dramatic and enjoy acting and singing then this is the activity for you! Weekly sessions culminate in a wonderful performance that can be attended by family and friends.

Students practice stage techniques focusing on diction, tone and projection. Students learn vocal and acting warm ups and techniques.  The program concludes with a production in December.


Sessions will take place on Thursday from Dismissal to 3:30pm in the school auditorium.  

Beginning date: Thursday, September 21st

Ending date: Thursday, December 14th

Performance date: Thursday, December 14th at 3:00 pm


The cost of this program is as follows:

$12 for each weekly session                              

$25 one time materials fee

Zumba for Grades K to 6

Join us for this fun and exciting way to get fit, stay healthy and have fun. These fun and exciting classes will be facilitated by certified Zumba instructor, Ms. Erica Vitale. Classes will be held in the school cafeteria.


This program will run on selected Wednesdays beginning in October.


More specific information with dates and times to follow.


Times: Dismissal to 4:00


Fee: The cost is $12.00 per child per class (You will be billed only for the classes your child attends.)


Dismissal location: 151 Lindenwood Road by Mrs. Penna’s desk.


Classes will begin in October and run for 5 sessions. After each 5 week session new sessions will become available based on program attendance. If attendance drops below 10 students future sessions may be canceled. Please see calendar for specific dates.
