Dear St. Clare School Families,

This week we started the New Year with a lovely Mass led by our 4th grade students. Our 7th grade students also had an enjoyable afternoon on Saturday preparing for Confirmation at their retreat. Thank you to Ms. Marie Ferro for organizing the retreat and to our priests, deacons, staff, and teachers, for providing a day filled with prayer and worship. A special thanks to Mrs. Vautrinot, Mrs. Miller, and Mrs. Upton for their help directing the retelling of the parables.

Fifteen of our students were newly installed as altar servers during the 5:00 p.m. Mass on Saturday. May God bless them as they begin their new ministry! Congratulations!

We hear from our bus drivers that Pioneer may be changing their route assignments this coming Monday. Please be patient if buses are late at the beginning of the week as drivers get accustomed to new routes. 

We are happy to report that several of our students have signed up for the Talent Show. Last call for sign-ups is this week. 

Our Mother-Son Luncheon will take place on Saturday, January 21st.This event is open to all grades and is sure to be a fun afternoon for all. Flyers were sent home last week. 

Sibling applications for next year were sent home this past week. Please return completed applications and the application fee before our Open House on January 30th to reserve a seat for next year.

Our Mary’s Helpers Rosary Club started this past Wednesday. It was lovely to spend a little time praying together. The club will meet in the church every Wednesday immediately following dismissal. Students will be dismissed from the church at 3:15 p.m. 7th grade students will receive 45 minutes of service credit for attendance. Parents are also welcome. Please email Mrs. Olsen ([email protected]) or Mrs. Griffo ([email protected]) if you plan on attending.

An information meeting for parents of students receiving First Holy Communion will be held on Wednesday, January 11th at 10:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the chapel. Parents may attend whichever meeting works best for their schedule. Attendance is mandatory (1 parent per student).

World’s Finest Chocolate cases will be distributed on Friday, January 13th (1 per family). Please contact the office if you would like additional boxes.

We are looking forward to our Open House on January 30th for new families interested in attending our school next year. Registration applications and fees will be accepted on January 30th. Space is limited. Please spread the word if you know a family who is interested in joining our school.

Just a reminder, as discussed at orientation, effective January 1st, our 3rd grade students will  transition to no snack in school.

Please be sure that uniform skirt lengths are modest. Skirts are available from Clare’s Closet if your child has had a growth spurt.

For the safety of our children, please do not allow students to climb the fence near the alley door or run in the alley.
