Dear School Families,

In this week’s Responsorial Psalm (Ps 126:1-2, 2-3, 4-5, 6) we pray, “The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.” I certainly appreciated the joy of our school community as I attended our Children’s Halloween Party on Saturday. May we all experience the joy of God’s love this week.

A Spooktackular time was had by all at our children’s Halloween Party on Saturday. A special thank you to our class reps, Mrs. Gilsenan, Mrs. Palazzola, and Mrs. Bongiorni, Mrs. Napolitano, Mrs. Greenblum, Mrs. Bianco, Mrs. Bove, Mrs. Gonnella, Mrs. Fundaro, Mrs. Lorenzo, Mrs. Realbuto, our 7th grade volunteers, and the parents and students who assisted with clean-up for a wonderful event.

A few reminders from our student handbook:

No hair fads (e.g. colored hair, beaded hair, designs, etc.) are permitted.

Girls are not to wear facial makeup, nail polish, or false nails. Nail length should be moderate and not impede the ability to complete school work as determined by teachers.

A special thank you to our Firefighter parents who have visited our PreK this school year. Thanks go to:  Mr. Caruso, Mr. Esposito, Mr. Keane, Mr. Iannetti, Mr. McEvoy, Mr. Merolla, Mr. Pepitone, and  Mr. Wilkie.

This week our school will begin our St. Jude’s Math-a-thon. Students who participate will complete a St. Jude’s Math-a-thon Fun Book to raise money for St. Jude’s Research Hospital. We hope many of our students and families will help support this worthwhile cause.

Please note that there will be no bus service on November 1st and no aftercare on November 27th.

This coming week we look forward to our Trunk or Treat and 8th Grade Halloween party on October 31st. All students may dress down in appropriate (modest and not too scary) Halloween costumes on Halloween Day. Students are asked to leave costume accessories at home. Face makeup is also not allowed. Younger students must be able to use the restroom with their costume.

Friday is November 1st. Please be sure to place Osteria Santina lunch orders for November by Thursday night.

7th grade students will lead us in All Saints Day Mass on Friday, November 1st. 

Students are invited to dress as their favorite saint for 10:00 Mass on Sunday, November 3rd.

Confirmation Retreat for 7th grade students will take place on Saturday, November 2nd from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Mrs. Vautrinot and Mrs. Continanzi will be sending home additional information.

All immunization and health records should have been submitted to the school office. Please be sure that your child is in compliance as Public Health Law Section 2164 requires exclusion from school if proof of immunizations is not on file. 

Videos and other information for the upcoming TACHS exam have been posted to the school website. 8th grade parents are asked to follow the video instructions to test their child’s device and install necessary software.
 
A flyer for our drama program for students in grades 5-8 was sent out on Friday. Please note that the program is limited to 30 students. Students will be performing Peter Pan this year.

Be on the lookout for the Superbowl Flyer this coming Monday. 

Our Thanksgiving Pie Fundraiser is now underway. Orders will be accepted until November 13th.

Please note the November 8th deadline for Ice Cream Treat orders. The deadline can not be extended.
