As we begin Thanksgiving Week, may we thank God for our many blessings, our dedicated faculty, staff, clergy, and parents. May God continue to bless our students in all they do. We thank God for them this and every day.
Be sure to visit our school website to watch our new video highlighting the amazing aspects of our school. A big thank you to Yearbook Innovation for producing such a beautiful showcase of our dedicated staff and students!
This coming week we look forward to our Thanksgiving Assemblies on Tuesday, November 26th. We kindly request that each student bring in at least one item of non-perishable food which will be collected for the St. Clare Food Pantry. We appreciate your support of those in need. All students may wear their gym uniforms on the 26th.
Thanksgiving Pies may be picked up at the PreK on Tuesday, November 26th between the hours of 12 and 3. A sincere thank you to Mrs. Vella for overseeing this fundraiser.
Students in grades 3 and 4 are welcome to serve as pilgrims and Native Americans at the 9:00 Mass on Thanksgiving Day. Students may wear their own costume or borrow from our limited supply. Please register via this link: https://forms.gle/6iBWNco38sKAF4Rr7 Our Jr. Giving Circle is organizing a Toy Drive for those in need throughout Staten Island. Please donate small toys (if you are able) by December 10th.
We will celebrate the first Sunday of Advent on December 1st. Jesse Tree services will begin the Monday when we return from Thanksgiving Break. A calendar of family activities will be sent home with our K - 8 students on Monday as well. A special thank you to Fr. Jacob for providing our students with these wonderful calendars.
Memorial Wreaths are available for purchase. They will be hung in front of the school and along the fence by the church. They are a lovely way of honoring family members while supporting our school. A flyer was recently sent out with more information.
Our Christmas Fair and Breakfast with Santa will be here before we know it! Pre orders for Santa Elves and Pictures with Santa are due December 2nd. Pictures with Santa may also be purchased during the fair. Santa Elves may be purchased at the fair (while supplies last). Lucky Straw donations are still being accepted. Thank you to all who have already donated.
There will be extended hours for our Christmas Fair this year. Students who return to the fair with an adult between 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. will be able to dress down on Friday, December 6th. We appreciate all of the planning and hard work that our parents have put into organizing this event. Thanks also to Mrs. Gardella for overseeing the fair vendors.
Reservations for Breakfast with Santa are due by November 27th. Please note that this event ‘sells out’ quickly.
All immunization and health records should have been submitted to the school office. Please be sure that your child is in compliance as Public Health Law Section 2164 requires exclusion from school if proof of immunizations is not on file. Kindly note that all students who will not turn 5 by 12/31/24 are required to receive a flu vaccine by December 31st. Students will not be allowed to attend classes if the flu vaccine has not been received by the required date.
Our Debs Cheerleaders were recently shining examples of living their faith when they traveled to Eger’s Nursing Home to give fuzzy socks to the residents and brighten their day with a cheer. We are so proud of you girls for providing service! A special thank you to team moms Sandra Hanna and Jen Rosenberg for organizing the trip.
A list of upcoming events follows.
Have a blessed week!
Mrs. Olsen
