Dear School Families,
On this third Sunday of Advent, Gaudete Sunday, we joyfully anticipate the approaching Christmas Season. May our hearts be filled with the true spirit of Christmas, the love of our Savior.
Mrs. Miller reports that a group of enthusiastic seventh graders joined her in spreading the joy of Christmas to the Presentation Sisters, the founders of St. Clare School. Mrs. Miller shared, “The students were filled with the spirit of generosity, creativity, and holiday cheer, singing Christmas Carols for the sisters and spending time talking with them over hot cocoa and treats. Their visit was a reminder that the true magic of Christmas lies in the joy we bring to others and the love we share during this festive season.”
Please note: all students are welcome to wear their gym uniforms on Monday, December 18th given the inclement weather forecasted.
Students may dress down in red and green on Friday, December 22nd, our last day before Christmas break. No slides, cropped tops, or ripped jeans please. Please note that dismissal is at 12:00 on Friday and there is no aftercare. School resumes on Wednesday, January 3rd.
Joy was in the air as we were treated to the Kindergarten and 8th grade Christmas pageants this week. We appreciate the efforts of our teachers, aides, and staff, Mrs. Jackowitz, Ms. Wilkens, Mrs. Calicchio, Mrs. Bonavita, Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Kneeshaw, and Mrs. Barricella for preparing our children so well. Our students’ performances were simply lovely!
8th Grade Art Studio members, Elena Brown, Christina Powers, Stella Quinones, Abigail Sheehy, Eva von der Osten, and Addison Ward created a beautiful Nativity mural which served as a lovely backdrop to the 8th Grade pageant. Thanks to Mrs. Bocchino for guiding them in their work.
The 8th Grade pageant was even more beautiful this year thanks to the new costumes made by Mrs. Marco and Mrs. Rosenberg. Thank you for all of your hard work!
Our Crafty Moms have been hard at work preparing crafts to share with the students on Monday, December 18th. Thank you to Mrs. Scott for organizing the Crafty Moms and to all the moms who participated.
This week we also look forward to our Jesse Tree service for grades 1, 5, and 8, Pretzel Day on Tuesday, December 19th, the PreK Christmas Pageant on Wednesday, December 20th (PreK 3 --9:00; PreK 4 --12:00) in the CCC, and the 3rd Grade Christmas Show on Thursday the 21st at 8:30 a.m. in the school auditorium. Our students in grades K - 4 had the opportunity to see the 3rd Grade show and they were quite impressed!

Immunization Notice
All PreK students are required to receive a flu vaccine and provide proof of immunization prior to return to school on 1/3/24.Per NY State law, proof of all physical exams and immunizations required as per the New York State Immunization Requirements for School Entrance/Attendance must be filed with the school nurse. A document listing the requirements may be found on the Parent Memos page of the school website. Please note that as of June 13, 2019, there are no longer allowances for religious exemptions from mandated vaccines.
