In reviewing this week's readings, what resonated most with me was the responsorial psalm,(Ps 92:2-3, 13-14, 15-16) "Lord, it is good to give thanks to you". As we approach the final week of the school year, I am reminded of how much there is to be thankful for. I am thankful for our students who are the reason that we do this work. I am thankful for our school families who give so much of themselves in supporting our school. I am thankful for our faculty and staff who exemplify dedication and caring every day. I am thankful for our clergy who have helped us to grow in our faith. Most importantly, I am thankful to the Lord for the countless blessings he has bestowed on me. May we all find time to be thankful this week.
This past week began with a lovely Corpus Christi procession for our students in grades 2 - 7. We appreciate Mrs. Clifford, Mr. Pietrofesa, Mrs. Rupert, and Mr. Laudiero for carrying the canopy for the procession. We thank Fr. Arthur, Fr. Brendan, Fr. Jacob, Fr. Michael, and Seminarian Joe for providing these faith building opportunities for our students.
Our talented 4th graders performed an outstanding concert for families and friends on Tuesday. During the concert, our students shared not only their singing talents but their bell ringing and song writing talents as well. A special thank you to Mrs. Barricella and 4th grade teachers Mrs. Bartlett and Mrs. Minucci for helping our students shine!
On Wednesday, our youngest students, PreK 3 and PreK 4, had their stepping-up ceremony. The students were simply adorable! A special thank you to our PreK faculty and staff for caring for our students and helping them to learn and grow. Thanks also to Mrs. McEvoy and Mrs. Amerose for the beautiful decorations.
On Thursday, our Kindergarten students had their graduation ceremony. The students did an outstanding job delivering their lines, singing, and praying together! Thank you to Mrs. Jackowitz, Ms. Wilkens, Mrs. Bonavita, and Mrs. Calicchio for helping our students to prepare for their big day!
On Friday, students in grades PreK - Grade 7 enjoyed a spectacular field day! Carnival games, sports blow-ups, volleyball, water games, Italian ices, and pretzels made the day fun for all!
We are so thankful to our Mother's Club officers, Mrs. Bongiorni, Mrs. Napolitano, Mrs. Greenblum, Mrs. Puliafito, and parent volunteers, Mrs. Tracy, Mrs. Faschilla, Mrs. Guadagno, Mrs. Mayo, Mrs. Marco, Mrs. Fiore, Mrs. Sullivan, Mrs. Palazzola, Mrs. Sheehan, Mrs. D'Angelo, Mrs. LaGrega, Mr. Vallejo, Mrs. Cataldo, Mrs. Vergona, Mrs. Gilsenan, Mrs. McEvoy, Mrs. Marsicano, Mrs. Lutrario, Mrs. Gronock, Mrs. Ocello, Mrs. Carl, Mrs. Amerose, and Mrs. Terrone for planning, organizing, and executing an outstanding field day. Even the rain storm didn't dampen the fun!
Next week we look forward to a visit from the Italian Fairy on Monday.
On Monday, June 17th, our 8th grade graduates are reminded to come to school to pick up their diplomas and other items between the hours of 8:00 and 10:00. Graduates should enter through the office door (Pathway of Prayer) and proceed to the STREAM Lab to pick up their items.
Our Photography Club members spent the last few weeks exploring their creativity while taking some captivating photos around our campus. Samples of their work can be found on the Photography Club Website (https://sites.google.com/stclaresi.com/stclarephotographyclub/home). More photos will be added as they become available. A special thank you to St. Clare Students Gabriella Maniscalco and Giuliana Picone for founding the club.
Be on the lookout for summer work and supply lists. They will be posted on the school website in the next week or two.
Please be sure to order new uniforms as needed for next year. Girl uniform skirts, skorts, and gym shorts must be a modest length. Stock up on backup uniforms from Clare's Closet if needed.
Next week is forecasted to be very warm. All students are welcome to wear gym uniforms for the week. Kindergarten students may wear their graduation tshirts with their gym shorts.
School will be closed on June 19th in honor of Juneteenth.
