Dear School Families,
When reflecting on this week’s Gospel (Mk 9:30-37), I listened to Believe, Teach, Practice, a weekly podcast during which BJ Brown and Father Walter F. Modrys discuss the Sunday readings. In his discussion, Father Walter notes that in today’s Gospel, Jesus is again sharing his upcoming passion with the disciples and that Mark focused on Jesus as the suffering Messiah.
We all have our crosses to bear and suffering to endure, be it a sick family member, financial difficulties, or a myriad of other issues. Father notes, “The important lesson we learned from Mark's gospel is that suffering does not essentially have to be an experience of abandonment and isolation, that we never suffer alone. The cross we carry is not ours alone, but something we share with the Lord who accompanies us.” (From believe. teach. practice.: 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time, September 22, Sep 21, 2024)
May our suffering be lessened this week through our close companionship with Jesus.
I would like to thank Mrs. Amanda Hyatt for her informational presentation on IESP services. Thanks also to Jann Amato, our Regional Superintendent for taking the time to stop by to share her insights.
Parents please be sure that all immunization updates have been sent to the school office. An annual medical exam is also required for all Kindergarten students. A list of the required immunizations can be found on the school website.
Our Meadow Farms fundraiser is underway. A catalog was sent home with students last week. Please let the office know if an additional catalog is needed.
