Dear School Families,
During today’s homily at 8:30 Mass, Fr. Jacob reminded us that as Catholics we are called to be “other centered and heaven oriented”. This week as we go about our daily lives, may we reflect on Fr. Jacob’s words and try our best not to be indifferent to the needs of others.
Please note a recent change to the school calendar. A Teacher Conference day has been added to the school calendar. Teachers will participate in Active Shooter training on March 27th. This will be a day off for students.
We are in need of lunch parents for our PreK program. Parents may not have students in the PreK and they must be vaccinated. If interested please call Mrs. Gardella at 718-984-7091 x1814.
The TACHS exam will be administered remotely again this year. Please be sure to visit tachsinfo.com and hover over the Prepare for Testing tab to see the data system requirements, parent handbook, and setup instructions that are available.
The 2022 JDRF Walk is scheduled for October 16th at Wagner College. This is a wonderful opportunity for not only our 7th graders but for all of our students to help others.
If you plan on participating, please be a part of 1st grader Sal Scura’s team, Salvatore’s Sweet Squad. For more information about Sal, please visit https://www2.jdrf.org/site/TR?fr_id=8673&pg=personal&px=12755567
Thanks to the officers of the Mothers Club for an informative first meeting. We were happy to see the many parents who were able to come out. Thanks too to Fr. Brendan for attending and leading us in prayer. We were also happy to welcome Mr. Ficchi who shared information about the Dads of St. Clare. We were also joined by Mary Guardino who discussed an upcoming Zoom series “Healthy Minds, Healthy Futures” which will be presented in October and November. A flyer was recently sent out with more information.
A sign up flyer was sent home on Friday for Art Club for grades 1 and 2. Please be sure to return the form as soon as possible as space is limited.
Flyers for Trunk or Treat and Recorders (grades 2 & 3) were also sent home this week.
Please be sure to label students’ jackets, sweat shirts, and lunch boxes with your child’s name so that they can be easily returned if misplaced.
Dress Down Fundraiser--our first dress-down fundraiser, benefiting our school, will take place on Friday, September 30th. Students are asked to bring in a $3 donation to dress down. No slides or ripped jeans, or cropped tops, please.
