Dear School Families,
In today’s Gospel (Jn 1:29-34), John the Baptist gives testimony that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. John was instrumental in preparing the way for Jesus by spreading the word that Jesus is the Son of God. As parents and teachers we try our best to prepare our children for their future with the love of Christ ever present in their lives.
This week we will continue to prepare for Catholic Schools Week. The week will be filled with many fun activities beginning with Open House on Monday, January 30th. We look forward to our Canstruction Creation Day, suggested by 8th grader Alaniah, and our Day of Kindness spearheaded by our 8th grade Girl Scout Troop. The week will end with First Friday Mass led by our 1st grade students on Friday, February 3rd and a showcase of our students’ talent at our Talent Show that evening. It is sure to be a fun week for all. A list of the week’s events can be found in the upcoming events list which follows. A flyer will be sent home shortly with more details.
We are looking forward to our Mother - Son Luncheon on Saturday, January 21st. Registrations for the luncheon must be received no later than Wednesday, January 18th. A special thanks to Mrs. Gilsenan, Mrs. Palazzola, and our Mother’s Club officers for planning a wonderful event.

Dress Rehearsal for our Talent Show will be on Thursday, January 26th in the auditorium immediately following dismissal. Students in the show will be brought to the auditorium. Parents can enter the Auditorium from the Lindenwood Rd. door as soon as buses dismiss. Thanks to Mrs. Pinto, Mrs. Quinones, Mrs. Bonavita, and Mr. Greco for all of their help on this event!
Please return completed sibling applications and the application fee prior to our Open House on January 30th to reserve a seat for next year.
MAP testing and midterm exams continue this week. Midterm schedules for grades 6 - 8 have been shared by the teachers. All students in grades 3 - 8 will take the religion midterm on Thursday, January 19th.
Our 4th grade students will also participate in a simulation of Computer Based Testing (CBT) for the state test this week. The simulation will enable students to practice logging on to the system and familiarize them with the test format and tools.
Calling all artists! The parish mission team is requesting students to create invitation artwork for the parish mission. Selected artwork will be featured on the cover of the weekly bulletin. Be on the lookout for a flocknote flyer with more information.
Let us pray for peace as we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day this Monday.
