Dear School Families,
The first reading this week from the Book of Wisdom (6:12-16) reminds us that wisdom is readily available for those who seek her. It is something that most of us aspire to have. Reflecting on wisdom, I was reminded of a quote from one of my favorite book series, the Inspector Gamache books by Louise Penny. In the books, Inspector Gamache shares with those he supervises the four statements that he feels lead to wisdom. They are: “I was wrong”, “I’m sorry”, “I don’t know”, and “I need help”. May we all become more comfortable using such phrases in the pursuit of wisdom.
Ensuring the well-being of our children and families is our top priority. We extend our gratitude to Firefighters and parents, Mr. Casserly and Mr. Wilkie, for visiting our PreK. They shared valuable safety tips with our students, alleviating any fears they may have about encountering a firefighter during an emergency.
We are also thankful to Sgt. Nunez, 2nd grade parent and Air Force combat veteran who visited with several of our classes on Wednesday, November 8th. Sgt. Nunez spoke with our students about the core values of our military. Thank you Sgt. Nunez for your time and for your service.
May God bless and protect all of our veterans, servicemen and women, and first responders in their work to keep us safe.
Please be sure to use the proper entrances and exits when entering and leaving the church parking lot. One of our parent’s cars was hit by a car leaving the lot in the wrong direction.
The inaugural pizza pilot exceeded expectations! We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Gardella and our lunch parents for orchestrating a seamless first pizza lunch. Keep an eye out for pizza making a regular appearance on our future lunch menus.
Report cards will be released on November 20th. PreK students receive report cards during the 2nd and 4th quarters. Parent-Teacher conferences for all students (PreK - Grade 8) will be held virtually on November 21st. There will be a 12:00 dismissal on the 21st. Please be sure that tuition payments are up-to-date so that a report card can be received.
3rd and 4th grade students are invited to register to portray Pilgrims and Native Americans for our 9:00 a.m. Thanksgiving Day Mass. This Mass is a beautiful way to celebrate a day of giving thanks. Students may sign up by going to https://forms.gle/pDef9DBqCqbfS8tV7.
A form to purchase Spirit Wear was sent home this week. We ask that all orders kindly be returned by 11/22/23.
The holidays will soon be upon us! We look forward to Christmas pageants in grades PreK, Kindergarten, and 8th grade and a Christmas Concert featuring our 3rd graders. Additionally, fliers were recently sent home for holiday events including, the Christmas Fair Pre-Sale Raffles, Christmas Fair Sponsor Form, Santa Breakfast, Memorial Wreath form, and Candy Grams. Please see the events page on the school website for copies of the flyers.
A list of upcoming events follows.
Have a blessed week!
Mrs. Olsen
