Dear School Families,
As we prepare for Thanksgiving this week, we thank God for all He has given us: our families, students, teachers, staff, and priests. As we celebrate the Feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary this Monday, we pray for the Presentation Sisters who founded our school. We pray that God continues to watch over us and that His favor is shown through us to those in need.
This will be a short but busy week.
On Monday, November 21st, our students will have time to make Christmas crafts which will be used as decorations for the many Christmas events that are coming up. A special thank you to Mrs. Contino for organizing the crafts with the assistance of Mrs. Abruzzo, Mrs. Gardella, Mrs. Delgado, and Mrs. Vella. Many of our class reps will be on hand to help the students complete the crafts. Thank you all!
Please note that the 21st is a 12:00 dismissal day for Parent Teacher Conferences. Be sure to reach out to your child’s teacher if you are in need of a link for the conference.
Tuesday afternoon, our school students will participate in our Thanksgiving Assembly. We ask that students bring in some canned foods for the assembly to replenish our St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. Thank you to Mrs. Barricella, Mrs. Miller, and our 8th grade students for organizing the assembly. Please note that all students are asked to wear their gym uniforms on Tuesday.
Thanksgiving Pie pickup will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 22nd between 3 and 6 p.m. at the Cardinal Cooke Center. A special thank you to Mrs. Vella for running this fundraiser!
We will have a Gratitude Dress Down Day on Wednesday, November 23rd. Students are asked to bring in a slip of copy paper with what they are thankful for written on it. A single or list of words (e.g. my family) is all that is needed as the slips will be used to make a classroom display. As always, no ripped jeans, cropped tops or slides please.
There will be a Father’s Club (Dads of St. Clare) meeting on Wednesday, November 23rd at 7:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria. All members and those interested in joining are welcome to attend.
Thanksgiving Mass (9 a.m. Thanksgiving morning) is a wonderful way to celebrate the day. Several of our 3rd and 4th grade students have signed up to serve as Native Americans and Pilgrims for the Mass. Please try to attend if you aren’t traveling.
The Breakfast for Santa reservations are filling up quickly. Please return your reservation form as soon as possible to avoid being closed out of this event if you are interested in attending.
Spirit Wear orders may be submitted through Monday morning as the order will be placed Monday evening.
Calling all 2nd and 6th grade parents...please show your support by volunteering for the Christmas Fair. Help is needed on both November 29th (setup) and on the 30th. Please contact the class reps if you are able to lend a hand.
Please send in orders for Christmas Fair pictures with Santa and poinsettias. The $5 Christmas Craft fee is also being collected at this time.
Pretzel money is due November 28th. Pretzels will be given out on December 5th.
Friday, December 2nd is a teacher conference day. There will be no school for students.
Please review the list of upcoming events below.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
