Dear School Families,
In the Gospel passage (Matthew 25:31-46) for this week, we are prompted to reflect on the idea that our faith is truly expressed through the way we lead our lives. We read:
For I was hungry and you gave me food,
I was thirsty and you gave me drink,
a stranger and you welcomed me,
naked and you clothed me,
ill and you cared for me,
in prison and you visited me.'
Then the righteous will answer him and say,
'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you,
or thirsty and give you drink?
When did we see you a stranger and welcome you,
or naked and clothe you?
When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?'
And the king will say to them in reply,
'Amen, I say to you, whatever you did
for one of the least brothers of mine, you did for me.'
The outpouring of generosity of our school families for those in need as evidenced by our recent food drive and our current toy drive reminds me daily of the love of Christ. May we continue to see Christ in our fellow man.
The Advent season will soon be upon us. It will be a busy time in our school with prayer services, reconciliation (grades 3 - 8), pageants, performances, and celebrations. We are looking forward to all of these activities as we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Our school Christmas Fair will be held on Wednesday, November 29th. A special thank you to our class reps, Mrs. Gilsenan, Mrs. Gronock, Mrs. Marco, Mrs. Mayo, Mrs. Pinto and Mrs. Quinones for all of their hard work on the fair. Thanks also to Mrs. Gardella and our Mother’s Club officers, Mrs. Bongiorni, Mrs. Napolitano, Mrs. Puliafito, and Mrs. Greenblum for their assistance. We thank our fair sponsors and parent volunteers for their support.
Wednesday is also the last chance to register for our Breakfast with Santa which will be held on Saturday, December 9th.
The last day to donate new unwrapped toys for the Cops Care for Kids Toy Drive is Thursday, November 30th.
The due date for Candy Cane Grams is also quickly approaching (12/8/23). Please see the Flocknote sent out on 11/20/23 for more information.
Be on the lookout for the December Lunch Menu which will be posted to the school website this coming week.
Please note that school will be closed on Friday, 12/1/23 for a teacher conference.
PreK parents are reminded that all Prek students are required to have a flu shot by 12/31/23. A record of the shot must be sent to the school nurse.
Have a blessed week!
Mrs. Olsen
