Dear School Families,
In today’s Gospel (Jn 4:5-42) we are reminded that Jesus is the Living Water with whom we will never thirst. As we invite Him into our hearts and lives, we can fill the void which so many of us feel. He can be the missing piece. Our parish mission this coming week (March 13th, 14th, and 15th) is certain to help us see Jesus in this way.
Sunday, April 23rd is the Archdiocese of New York's Middle School Youth Rally Day at St. Joseph's Seminary in Yonkers. Students in grades 6 - 8 are invited to attend. Several parents have voiced their concerns about the dangerous situation created in the school parking lot by drivers parking illegally and entering and exiting improperly. The two driveways between the chapel and church should only be used for entering the parking lot. The two driveways on the other side of the chapel should only be used for exiting the parking lot. Please do not worry if you are running late. Teachers will stay with students and bring them to after care if needed. It is imperative that you take the time to park properly. Our children’s safety depends on it!
A special thanks to all of the mothers and sons who led us in a very moving Stations of the Cross on Friday evening. All students who participated or were in attendance may dress down on Monday, March 13th.
Congratulations to our cheerleaders for their fabulous performance in Saturday’s competition. Our varsity placed 2nd and our junior varsity placed 3rd in the event! In recognition of the cheerleaders’ hard work this year and that of all of our student athletes, St. Clare sports team members may wear their warmups on Monday.
Shopping times for our upcoming Book Fair (March 30th) were sent out via Flocknote. Thanks to Mrs. Bonavita for planning this event. Volunteers are needed for setup after school on March 29th and for the day of the event. Please contact the school office if you are interested in volunteering.
There will be a Pretzel Day on March 22nd. Pretzel money is due March 17th.
This week we look forward to our 5th and 6th grade in house ‘art trip’, the 1st grade St. Patrick’s Day Play on Friday, March 17th (8:30 a.m. school auditorium), the Father-Son bowling event, and the track pep rally in the CCC gym following the 5:00 Mass on Saturday, March 18th.
