Dear School Families,
Today is the 5th Sunday of Lent. As our students lead us in the Stations of the Cross on Friday afternoons, we are reminded of Jesus’ sacrifice and his love for us. May we have time to reflect this week on spreading Jesus’ love for us through our actions toward others.
One of our highlights of this past week was PreK 4’s celebration of the word wedding of ‘Q & U’. The wedding was adorable! Our PreK 4 students enjoyed attending the ceremony in their wedding finery and dancing at the reception afterward. We will certainly remember that q and u are usually together in words! Thank you to Mrs. Plaza, Mrs. D’Ambrosio, Mrs. Powers, Mrs. Webb, Mrs. Abruzzo, Mrs. Vella and all of our PreK teachers and aides who helped with the celebration.
There is much to look forward to this week. First, we will have the pleasure of our 6th grade students’ performance of Godspell on Tuesday, March 28th at 8:30 a.m. in the church. Parents please bring siblings to church with you if you would like them to attend the performance. Mrs. Griffo and I will escort siblings to school after the performance. Thank you to Mrs.Barricella, Mrs. Bogart, Mrs. Molloy and students for what is sure to be a performance to remember!
The Book Fair will be held on Thursday, March 30th. Parents are invited to shop with students. The Book Fair schedule has been sent out via Flock Note and is posted on the school website. Thank you to Mrs. Bonavita and our parent and student volunteers for their help on this event.
We are also looking forward to our PreK Easter Hat Parade on Friday, March 31st in the CCC. PreK 3’s parade is at 8:30. PreK 4 is at 9:30.
Please remind students to take all of their school supplies, lunch, water, projects, etc. with them when leaving for school in the morning and to take what is needed at the end of the day before leaving school for home as we would like to limit classroom disruptions as much as possible.
Our Boone Supply Catalog Sale ends this week. Please be sure to place your orders by Friday, March 31st.
Our Bread of Life Food Drive also ends this coming Friday. Your generosity will help those in need. The class with the highest number of donations will be given a dress down day.
Be on the lookout for a Chess Club Pilot that we plan on starting on Tuesdays after school when we return from Easter vacation. The pilot will be open to students in grades 4 and 5 and will be limited to the first 18 students who sign up. Thank you to our 4th and 8th grade students who presented this idea.
Report cards will be released on April 5th for students in grades K - 8. Please be sure that all tuition payments are up to date.
Our ELA state exam will be administered on April 19th and 20th. Please notify your child’s teacher and the school office immediately if you plan on opting your child out of the test. Students who are not taking the test will need to remain home on testing days.
A list of upcoming events follows.
Have a blessed week!
