Dear School Families,
Today is the third Sunday of Easter. May we continue to see the love of the risen Christ in the good deeds and kindness of others and may we share that love through our own actions and words.
Our Mother - Daughter Luau was fun for all! Thanks to Mrs. Newell, and Mrs. Rubert, for planning and running a wonderful event. Thanks also to the many moms whose donations and creativity helped make the event such a beautiful and fun time for the girls. Thanks also to our student volunteers.
Congratulations to 8th grade student Marly Girgis on her first place win and to 7th grade students Christina Powers and Addison Ward for their honorable mention in the Antonio Meucci Young Inventors Competition. Well done girls!
We are looking forward to our pilot Chess Club beginning this coming Tuesday, April 25th. The club is meeting in the STREAM Lab from dismissal - 3:30p.m. Dismissal will be from the door behind the rectory. We are thankful to 8th grade students Eddie Daigneau, Gio Sparacio, Mark Marolla, Emre Ates and 4th grade students Jacquiline DeVito, Christopher Powers, and Anthony Morales for suggesting and organizing this club.
Our 8th Grade ‘Year’ Picture will be taken on Tuesday, April 25th.
There are still spots available in our Art, STEM, and Bridge summer programs. Applications are available on the school website. Please call the school office if you have any questions.
Staff from the Department of Health will be on site on April 27th and 28th to administer vision tests for students in grades PreK 4 through 1st grade.
Our 7th grade students will be traveling to the Cross River Reservoir to release the trout they have cared for this year on Tuesday, April 25th.
Please avoid taking students out of school early if at all possible. Children must be picked up by 2:00 p.m. if you need to pick them up early due to a doctor’s appointment or emergency.

The math state exam will be administered on Tuesday, May 2nd and Wednesday, May 3rd. As with the ELA exam, students who ‘opt out’ of the exam will need to remain at home during testing and will be charged with an unexcused absence. Requests for opt outs must be sent in writing to your child’s teacher with a cc to Mrs. Olsen ([email protected]).
Our pilot Creative Writing Club for students in grades 3-5 is set to begin on May 4th. A flyer regarding the club was recently sent out via Flocknote. The club will take place in the STREAM Lab from dismissal until 3:30 p.m. It will provide a platform for aspiring writers to create stories and share them with other members of the club. Mrs. Olsen and Mrs. Griffo will be on hand to supervise. We would like to extend our gratitude to Kaitlyn Nichols and Serena Gervasi for their suggestion and planning of the club. Please note that the pilot will have limited availability with only 15 spots available.
Please review the upcoming events listed below.
Have a blessed week!
