Dear School Families,

The second reading this week (1 Jn 3:18-24) notes, “Children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth”. This week may we share the love of Christ through our actions and our words.

A special thank you to Mr. Ficchi and all of the members of the Dads Club for their excellent work on Radio Bingo! Their hard work on fundraising, baskets, and decorating provided a spectacular time for all and significantly boosted funds for our school!

Our 8th grade and Kindergarten students will have graduation pictures taken on Tuesday, April 30th. Please follow teachers’ directions regarding what the children should wear, etc.

Communion retreat for our 2nd grade students will also take place on Tuesday, April 30th. Our second graders may dress down for their special day.

4th and 8th grade students will take the math state exam on Wednesday, May 1st and Thursday, May 2nd. 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 7th grades will take the math state exam on Tuesday, May 7th and Wednesday, May 8th.

There will be a 12:00 dismissal on Friday, May 3rd for a faculty meeting.

Please note that Wednesday begins a new month for lunch orders. All orders must be placed on mymealorder.com by 9:00 p.m. the night before. The February menu has been posted to the school website.

Reminder…You should have received information about the Summer Journey program directly from Catapult Learning. This complimentary program offers fantastic opportunities for our students. It's offered in person at Father Vincent Capodanno Catholic Academy, Our Lady Queen of Peace, St. Teresa-St. Rita STREAM Academy, Sacred Heart, and St. Charles. Additionally, there's a virtual option available. The program operates Monday through Thursday from July 8th to August 15th. Completing the program fulfills summer school requirements. While the enrollment deadline is May 22nd, early registration is recommended as spots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

May will be an especially busy month for our school as there will be math state exams, MAP testing, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, and several other events. Please note on your calendar that the half day on Wednesday, May 22nd will be a 12:30 rather than a 12:00 dismissal. This time change is to ensure that our 8th grade students will return from the 8th grade Mass in time for dismissal.

The Newspaper Club meeting scheduled for this coming Thursday, May 2nd has been canceled and rescheduled to Thursday, May 9th. 

Lights, Camera, Action! A new photography club will be piloted as the school year winds down. Be on the lookout for a Flocknote flyer with more information. 

Our 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students are reminded to return their reservations for the 5th, 6th, and 7th grade Glow Party if they are interested in attending. A special thank you to Mrs. Bongiorni and Mrs. Napolitano for organizing what is sure to be a fun time for our 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students.
