Week of 9/17/23

Dear School Families,

This week's Gospel serves as a poignant reminder of our divine calling to extend forgiveness. While we acknowledge that we all, at times, find ourselves in need of forgiveness, the act of forgiving others when the need arises can be a formidable challenge. May we find the strength and grace to embrace this virtue in our hearts.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Father Arthur and our exceptional 8th-grade students and teachers  for orchestrating a beautiful First Friday Mass. Thank you all!

MAP testing begins this Monday, September 18th.  MAP Growth scores help teachers check student performance by measuring achievement and growth. Teachers use results to tailor classroom lessons and set goals for students. Testing will run through October 6th. 

Our Mother’s Club is in the process of planning numerous events for the upcoming year. They kindly request donations of scratch-off tickets, which will be utilized as raffle prizes throughout the school year.

The first Mother’s Club meeting of the year is scheduled for Thursday, September 21st, at 8:00 p.m. We wholeheartedly invite all members of our community to attend and gain insights into the exciting events planned for the year ahead. Mr. Bob Nebel from Staten Island Archery will be in attendance to discuss CYO Archery and our intentions to host a St. Clare Archery Clinic.

8th Grade parents please be mindful of the October 6th deadline for requests for extended time for the TACHS exam. The deadline to register for TACHS is October 26th.

Cheerleading tryouts are set to take place this upcoming Thursday, September 21st, in the school gymnasium.

• Debs (3rd & 4th grade) tryouts will be held from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
• Varsity (5th - 8th grade) tryouts are scheduled from 8:00 - 9:30 p.m.

Crafty Moms will begin meeting on 9/26/23 at 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. in the school cafeteria. Please contact Mrs. Scott at [email protected] for more information.

Calling all artists! We would like to paint a mural on the walls of the main floor of the PreK. Please email Mrs. Olsen ([email protected]) and Mrs. Griffo ([email protected]) if you have artistic talent to share.
