Week of 3/21/22
Dear School Families,
Last week was another active one here at St. Clare. The outpouring of support for the people of Ukraine was heartwarming. We are so thankful to Mrs. Geissler for suggesting the donation drive and for organizing the collection and dropping off the donations for shipment. Mrs. Geissler will be in the Hick’s Center schoolyard on Monday afternoon from 12:00 - 2:00 for the final pick-up of donations. Thanks too to our 7th-grade students and teachers for talking with our classes about the need for donations. Our 7th graders also led us in a prayer for peace each morning.
Several students' support efforts were glowing examples of living our faith. 6th-grade student Christina Powers organized a bake sale to raise money for Ukraine. 3rd-grade students made bracelets that they sold to other students in the school to raise money as well. Thank you to Grace Bannon, Riley Bowen, Jacqueline DeVito, Serena Gervasi, Jenna Jaconetti, Kaitlyn Nichols, and Sophia Nichols for all of their hard work! Finally, 7th grade students, Sophia DiStefano, Grace Assile, and Giuliana Collegio, gave up their Saturday afternoon to collect donations at a local supermarket. Thank you all!
We were treated to wonderful performances by our 1st grade and PreK students this past Thursday and Friday. Thanks to the 1st grade and PreK teachers and aides for helping our students to put on a great show!
This week as we enter the third week of Lent, we are thankful for the wonderful example of service demonstrated by our students and families.
Have a Blessed Week!
Mrs. Olsen
